Jed Lowrie was removed from Saturday’s game in the third inning with an apparent right ankle sprain.
The injury occured while Lowrie was covering second base on a throw from Jose Altuve in the second inning. Gregor Blanco slid hard into the bag and may have spiked Lowrie’s ankle. He appeared to be in significant pain and was clutching his right knee as he left the field.
