Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez indicated that Jack Wilson will be his starting shortstop while Andrelton Simmons (finger) is out.
“I told him in Philadelphia Sunday after the game, I said ?Rest up these next four days. I don?t want you going to Six Flags or any of those places and wear out because we might have to ride you for a while,?” Gonzalez said. Many figured the Braves would recall Tyler Pastornicky and install him as their starter at short, keeping Wilson in a bench role. But, it’s not a given that Pastornicky will even be called up. The Braves are also considering making a trade for a short-term fix. Simmons is expected to be out at least a month.
