Huston Street told Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com that he would “clear the air” with Mets bench coach Bob Geren if he is traded to the club.
Street previously said that Geren, who managed him in Oakland, was the “least favorite person I have ever encountered in sports from age 6 to 27,” but he would bury the hatchet if they crossed paths again. “If I were to get traded to the Mets, it would be up to me to handle it and be professional,” said Street. “I play hard for my teammates, and he’d be my teammate again.” Street, 29, has a 1.13 ERA and 32/8 K/BB ratio over 24 innings this season while going a perfect 13-for-13 in save opportunities. The Mets have also been mentioned in connection with Grant Balfour, Jonathan Broxton, Brett Myers and Francisco Rodriguez in recent weeks.
