Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen said on The Dan LeBatard Show on 790 The Ticket Tuesday that the team will use a closer-by-committee at the start of the second half.
Guillen hinted as much after Heath Bell blew another save in spectacular fashion Sunday. Although Ozzie didn’t mention anyone by name, Steve Cishek figures to be first in line for saves for now, with Randy Choate getting a shot against left-handed batters. Edward Mujica should also be in the mix when he returns from the DL Sunday and Juan Carlos Oviedo might be the best option over the long haul. He will rejoin the bullpen later this month.
