Ramon Hernandez (Rockies)

7/8/12 8:15 am

Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports that the Mets are interested in Ramon Hernandez.

Sherman also notes that they have interest in Kelly Shoppach and Miguel Olivo, as well, but Hernandez, who was with GM Sandy Alderson in Oakland, seems to be their first choice. Hernandez is currently on the DL with a left hand strain but is due back soon. The Rockies would surely consider trading him, as they want to keep Wilin Rosario in a starting role and would also probably like to get out from under the $3.2 million owed to Hernandez next season.
