According to CSNBayArea.com’s Andrew Baggarly, “there remains no plans” for Sergio Romo to move into the Giants’ closer role.
The Giants have durability concerns with Romo, and aren’t convinced he’s been effective enough against left-handed hitters to earn to the promotion. For now, he’ll continue to setup for Santiago Casilla. Though it’s possible, if not likely, he could overtake the job in the second half.
