Clay Buchholz (esophagitis) will begin his rehab assignment Sunday at Triple-A Pawtucket.
Buchholz threw a bullpen session Friday and is ahead of schedule in his recovery from esophagitis. According to ESPN’s Joe McDonald, Buchholz is scheduled to return from the disabled list for the second game of the Tampa series (July 14) following the All-Star break.
