Luis Mendoza was quality in Wednesday’s Fourth of July loss to the Blue Jays, allowing three runs on nine hits in six innings of work.
Mendoza walked one while surprisingly recording a season-high nine strikeouts. The 28-year-old righty had previously fanned no more than five in any of his nine starts. Quality in four of his past five outings, Mendoza isn’t an awful flier if you’re desperate for pitching help in a deeper mixed league. He should get the White Sox in his first post-ASB start.
