Freddie Freeman will receive two more cortisone shots in his left index finger over the All-Star break.
Freeman first hurt his finger in early June and missed a handful of games at the time. He’s still having some pain and admits that the finger is tight when he grips the bat and that he gets a “jolt” when he catches some hard throws. Freeman had a .697 OPS in June and is hitting just .182 in July entering Wednesday’s game, so it’s not unreasonable to think the finger is bothering him more than he’s letting on.
