Carlos Villanueva held the Royals to just four hits in six scoreless innings of work Wednesday, improving to 3-0 in Toronto’s 4-1 Fourth of July victory.
Villanueva struck out seven and walked none in dropping his ERA to 3.05. Through 44 1/4 innings, he’s now the owner of a 1.33 WHIP and 48/22 K/BB ratio. Not bad. Provided the Blue Jays stick with their normal rotation order through the All-Star break, Villanueva is in line to get the Indians next Friday.
