Matt Garza was decent in a win over the Astros on Saturday, allowing one run on nine hits over 5 1/3 innings.
Garza walked three and struck out one in the game. He struggled with his command and continually fell behind the Astros hitters throughout, but he was able to bear down and get critical outs when necessary. A popular name in trade talks, Garza now sits at 4-6 with a 4.01 ERA and 80/26 K/BB ratio through 89 2/3 innings this year. He’ll next audition for prospective clubs when he takes on the Braves in Atlanta on Thursday.
