The Padres are expected to recall top prospect catcher Yasmani Grandal from Triple-A Tucson before Saturday’s game.
He’ll take the roster spot of Nick Hundley, who was demoted to the minors after Friday’s game. Grandal had a brief stint in the majors earlier this month, but he should get an extended look this time around. The 23-year-old backstop is hitting .335/.443/.521 with six homers, 35 RBI and a .963 OPS in 56 games at the Triple-A level this year. He’s well worth adding in NL-only and deeper mixed leagues.
