Dan Uggla (Braves)

Dan Uggla could receive his first day off of the season on Friday.

Uggla is batting just .108 over his last 20 games following an 0-for-3, three-strikeout showing Thursday, so it’s a good time for a breather. It would also allow the Braves to give a start to Jack Wilson, who hasn’t received one since May 30. “I?ve been with him for six years. I know what he’s capable of,” manager Fredi Gonzalez said of Uggla. “I know you have to have patience with him, keep supporting him like we have been, give him a breather every once in a while, and I don?t need to worry about him.”
