Brewers pitching prospect Tyler Thornburg was placed on the 7-day disabled list with Triple-A Nashville due to a sore right wrist.
Brewers assistant general manager Gord Ash called the issue “very minor” and he could start as soon as Sunday or Monday. Thornburg, 23, was knocked around for five runs over 5 1/3 innings during a spot start with the Brewers back on June 19 and has a 3.00 ERA over 13 starts at the Double-A level this year. Baseball America ranked him as the organization’s No. 4 prospect over the winter.
