Mark Ellis (leg, knee) could begin a minor league rehab assignment with High-A Rancho Cucamonga on Saturday.
He’ll get clearance to begin his rehab stint if he is able to run the bases without any issues on Thursday. Ellis expected to play four or five games and get about 20 at-bats, so he could be back before the All-Star break if all goes well.
