Mike Carp (shoulder) took some swings in the batting cage on Tuesday for the first time since going on the disabled list.
“It was definitely good for the psyche,” said Carp. “I’m all smiles today. I took 25 hacks and felt great.” He’ll take 45 swings in the cage on Wednesday and continue building up from there, though it’s not clear when he’ll be allowing to throw. Carp has dealt with a nagging shoulder injury that he suffered on Opening Day.
