Gio Gonzalez was hittable on Tuesday, surrendering five runs — four earned — and allowing eight hits over six innings against the Rockies.
Fortunately, his offense showed up and scored 12 runs. Gonzalez struck out seven and walked one while giving up a pair of solo homers. Improving to 10-3, the 26-year-old southpaw now holds a 2.78 ERA through 15 starts this season. He allowed more than three runs in a start for the first time since his season debut.
