Indians manager Manny Acta said Monday that Travis Hafner (knee) could be ready for a minor league rehab assignment within the “next couple of days.”
It’s not clear if he has run the bases yet, but he’ll need to do so before being cleared to play in rehab games. The 35-year-old DH has been sidelined since late May following right knee surgery. He’s currently on track to return in the early part of July.
