Shaun Marcum said he still felt soreness in his right elbow while playing catch Monday.
“Still sore,” said Marcum, who landed on the disabled list earlier this month with right elbow tightness. “Going to shut it down until it gets better, I guess. A little bit (better). Some of (the soreness) could have been 10 days without throwing, some of that stiffness and stuff in there. Hopefully it goes away and we’ll be good to go.” The Brewers were hoping that Marcum would be ready to return by the end of the week, but it’s probably safe to rule him out now.
