Matt Kemp (Dodgers)

Gideon Rubin of the Los Angeles Daily News writes that Matt Kemp (hamstring) was “especially chipper” after running sprints before Thursday’s game.

It sounds like the stud outfielder is progressing on schedule. Kemp would like to be activated before and play in the All-Star game on July 10, especially since he’s the leading vote-getter in the NL, but he’s sympathetic to the Dodgers possibly wanting to play it safe with him. “Of course I want to play but I’ve got to do what’s best for the team,” he said. “I’ve got to be ready for the second half.”
