Madison Bumgarner held the Mariners to just one run on three hits in eight innings of work Sunday, but got stuck with a no-decision in San Francisco’s 2-1 road loss.
Bumgarner struck out four and walked one in completing eight innings of work for the second time in four starts. One of the majors’ most ascendant pitchers, San Francisco’s 22-year-old lefty is now the owner of a 2.92 ERA and 1.07 WHIP through 95 2/3 innings. He’ll get the A’s in Oakland next weekend.
