Justin Smoak walked off the Mariners against the Giants on Sunday, singling home Munenori Kawasaki with one out in the ninth.
Smoak’s knock was his only hit in four trips to the plate, while the RBI was his first in 12 games. Smoak looked to be getting in gear in May, but his slash is down to .218/.279/.357 after he entered June batting .231/.278/.396. If you’re holding your breath for a breakout, you can probably stop now.
