Denard Span hit a walk-off RBI single in the 15th inning to propel the Twins to a 5-4 victory over the Brewers.
It was the longest game in Target Field’s three-year history. Neither team had scored since the seventh inning prior to Span’s hit, but both had plenty of opportunities. Span went 4-for-8 on the day with a double, an RBI and a run scored. Seven Twins batters had multi-hit games and Minnesota’s offense produced 20 in all. Span is batting .287/.356/.389 on the year and will be one of the more attractive names out there around the trade deadline, assuming the Twins make him available.
