Clayton Richard hurled seven innings of one-run ball Tuesday against the Mariners.
He easily outdueled the scuffling Felix Hernandez at Safeco Field. Richard gave up eight hits and a walk, striking out three. He has been terrific at Petco this season and mediocre on the road, so this performance was nice to see, though it was obviously a favorable matchup. The southpaw improves to only 3-7, though he has a decent 4.30 ERA and 1.31 WHIP.
