Justin Verlander (Tigers)

6/9/12 7:39 pm

Justin Verlander pitched well in a no-decision against the Reds on Saturday, allowing just two runs in six innings.

Verlander struck out nine and walked three in the game. The two “earned” runs came around as a result of a ball that Delmon Young badly misplayed in left field. It was ruled a double rather than an error by the official scorer. Even though Verlander has scuffled a bit recently, he still sits at 5-4 with a 2.69 ERA and remains one of the most dominant pitchers in the league. He’ll again go in search of his sixth victory when he takes on the Rockies at home on Friday.
