The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports Jaime Garcia (shoulder) will be shutdown for at least six weeks, and likely will be sidelined for the next two months.
We previously heard four weeks, but that no longer appears realistic. Garcia visited Dr. Lewis Yocum on Friday in Los Angeles and will be examined by Dr. James Andrews on Monday. The shoulder impingement is believed to be ”moderate” and surgery is not recommended. Joe Kelly will start on Sunday for the Cardinals, though Shelby Miller likely isn’t far off from a promotion, either.
