Jed Lowrie (Astros)

Jed Lowrie homered for the second consecutive game and drove home three runs on Friday night, leading the Astros to an 8-3 victory over the White Sox.

Lowrie finished the night 2-for-4. His two-run shot off Gavin Floyd in the fifth inning put the Astros ahead to stay. The 28-year-old now has 11 longballs on the season, remaining in a tie with J.J. Hardy (who also homered Friday) for the lead among major league shortstops. Lowrie is now hitting .293 with 11 homers and 27 RBI, and should merit strong consideration for an NL All-Star selection.
