Ryan Ludwick smashed two big home runs against the Pirates on Thursday, but it still wasn’t enough to lead the Reds to victory.
He finished the night 2-for-5 with the pair of solo shots. His first blast off of Kevin Correia tied the game at two in the fifth inning, while his blast off of Joel Hanrahan in the ninth brought the Reds even again at 4-4. Though he’s hitting a meager .214 on the season, Ludwick has provided solid power production with eight homers and 26 RBI. He makes for a decent option as a fifth outfielder or injury replacement for teams that are struggling in the power categories.
