Munenori Kawasaki went 2-for-3 with a three-run double Monday in the Mariners’ 8-6 win over the Angels.
The double more than doubled Kawasaki’s RBI total as a major leaguer; he entered the day with a .158 average and two RBI in 38 at-bats. The Mariners could consider increasing his playing time with Brendan Ryan struggling so mightily at the plate, but it’s not at all likely Kawasaki would outhit Ryan in the long run.
