WEEI.com’s Rob Bradford confirms Dustin Pedroia (thumb) will return to the lineup Tuesday.
Pedroia has a slight tear in the adductor muscle in his right thumb, but took batting practice with a specially-designed brace both Saturday and Sunday and reported no setbacks. With Pedroia healthy, Nick Punto will return to a bench role.
