Orioles manager Buck Showalter was noncommittal when asked if Jake Arrieta would make his next scheduled start.
“We just got through this game here and we’ve got off days,” Showalter said. “We’ll see what’s best for Jake and the Baltimore Orioles, but that’s the plan right now.” Arrieta continued his horrific run in Sunday’s loss to the Rays, allowing four runs on two hits and four walks in 4 2/3 innings of work. Over his last six starts, Arrieta is 0-5 with a 7.96 ERA. It’s very possible he’ll be skipped next time around.
