Tim Lincecum had his second best start of the season in Wednesday’s 4-1 loss to the Diamondbacks, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits in seven innings.
Lincecum struck out six, but he also tied a season-high with five walks. It speaks to Lincecum’s struggles that tonight was his second best start of 2012, though it was undoubtedly a step in the right direction. Lincecum had completed seven innings of work in just two of his 10 starts coming into this evening. Perhaps he’s finally ready to get on a roll. As it is, Lincecum will bring a 5.82 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 54/34 K/BB ratio (through 60 1/3 innings) into his Tuesday outing in San Diego.
