Jordan Lyles was blasted for six runs ? four earned ? on six hits and two walks over five innings Monday in a loss to the Rockies.
Lyles was making the start in the second game of a doubleheader and should be sent right back to the minors. While he should turn into a pretty good starter over the long run, the 21-year-old holds a 5.43 ERA over 116 career innings ? including a 5.73 mark this year ? so he’s clearly not ready for primetime.
