Orioles signed OF Adam Jones to a six-year, $85.5 million contract extension.

We first heard about the deal Friday, and the O’s officially announced it at a Sunday press conference. There are escalator clauses in the deal based on where Jones finishes in MVP voting that could result in an additional $6 million for the outfielder. The contract also includes a no-trade clause. The 26-year-old is batting .309/.351/.597 with 14 homers and eight steals in what looks to be a breakout season. He had been slated to hit free agency after the 2013 campaign.
