Ty Wigginton had a nice night at the plate on Thursday, going 3-for-5 with a homer and two RBI in the Phillies 10-9 victory over the Cardinals.
Wigginton also came around to score three times in the game. His solo shot off of Victor Marte in the eighth inning provided valuable insurance, and would stand as the eventual winning run in the game. He’s now hitting .254 with three homers and 16 RBI in a part time role for the Phillies. He’s still a useful contributor in NL-only and deeper mixed leagues, though he stands to see a considerable drop in playing time upon Ryan Howard’s return.
