Mets manager Terry Collins hopes Ruben Tejada (quad) will be ready to begin a minor league rehab assignment on Monday.
Tejada is currently rehabbing in extended spring training in Florida. It’s not clear which minor league affiliate he’ll be joining, but he’ll likely only need a handful of games before he’s ready to return. The 22-year-old shortstop was batting .305/.362/.400 over his first 117 plate appearances this season prior to suffering a right quad strain on May 6.
