Updating a previous item, John Danks from scratched from Friday’s start due to “soreness.”
That really narrows it down. The exact nature of the injury isn’t yet known, but given that his velocity, swinging strike rate and strikeout rates have all declined, we wouldn’t be surprised if it was an arm injury of some sort. That’s all speculation for now, of course. Jose Quintana will be called up from Double-A Birmingham to start in his place Friday.
