Tigers purchased the contract of OF Quintin Berry from Triple-A Toledo.
He’ll function as insurance in the outfield as Austin Jackson nurses an abdominal strain. Berry, 27, is hitting .270/.368/.321 with 19 stolen bases in 39 games at the Triple-A level this year and has stolen 261 bases in 692 minor league games. He could be worth a look in AL-only leagues if Jackson ends up going on the disabled list.
