Kevin Youkilis wasted no time, homering in his first game back Tuesday against the Orioles.
That homer was his only hit of the night and he struck out in his other two at-bats, but it’s still a step in the right direction for Youk. Now healthy, he should be able to improve on his .224 average over the next few weeks. With Adrian Gonzalez shifting to the outfield, it appears that Youkilis will make the majority of his starts at first base. Will Middlebrooks will continue to play third.
