An MRI taken Monday on the right knee of Brewers shortstop Alex Gonzalez revealed a torn ACL.
Gonzalez suffered the injury Saturday while sliding into second base. He will undergo a week of treatment before considering surgery. It’s quite possible that the veteran shortstop will miss the rest of the 2012 season.
