Craig Counsell reiterated Sunday that he won’t consider returning to baseball.
Counsell retired in January. After Alex Gonzalez was injured Saturday, some wondered if Counsell would reconsider. “I don’t have plans to play,” he said. The 41-year-old infielder was a .255/.342/.344 career hitter over more than 1,600 games. He was also part of two World Series championships.
