The Braves are no considering bumping the struggling Jair Jurrjens from the rotation when Tim Hudson (back) returns.
Jurrjens has been out-pitched by Randall Delgado, but it’s still expected to be Delgado that gets demoted later this month. Manager Fredi Gonzalez also noted that Jurrjens’ surgically-repaired knee isn’t an issue. “He was out here hitting and running around earlier,” Gonzalez said. “He was fine. Every pitcher goes through a little funk.” We do expect Jurrjens to turn it around eventually, but he should be benched in fantasy leagues for now.
