Jeremy Guthrie allowed one run on two hits in four innings of work in Monday’s 11-2 rout of the Padres.
Guthrie retired the final 10 batters he faced in bouncing back from a rough spring debut last week. Atypically, he recorded seven of his outs on the ground. It would behoove Guthrie to become a slightly less extreme flyball pitcher as he looks to adjust to hitter’s haven Coors Field.
