Justin Turner went 3-for-3 with a homer and three RBI to lead the Mets to a 7-0 win over a Marlins split-squad Wednesday.
Turner’s name came up in trade talks over the winter, but the Mets opted to keep him as a fallback option at second and third. He was useful in that role last season, though since he’s a weak defender at second and he lacks much in the way of power, he remains a tweener.
