Sergio Escalona underwent an MRI on his left elbow on Friday, which revealed no structural damage.
Escalona has been sidelined since hyperextending his elbow while swinging a bat last week. While the MRI didn’t show any damage, he won’t be cleared to throw for a few more days. The 27-year-old southpaw posted a 2.93 ERA and 25/11 K/BB ratio over 27 2/3 innings out of the Astros’ bullpen last season.
