John Axford told MLB.com’s Adam McCalvy that he would “love” to sign a multi-year deal with the Brewers.
Axford isn’t even eligible for arbitration yet, so there’s no real rush from either side. “Those discussions are possibly out there, so it’s really a matter of getting to a point where we both agree,” the 28-year-old closer said Wednesday in camp. “If a multi-year deal is worked out, that is something I would love. I?d love the security. I love Milwaukee, I?d love to play there as long as I could.”
