Jair Jurrjens (Braves)

Braves GM Frank Wren told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that Jair Jurrjens was ”ready to pitch a week after the season was over.”

The Braves listened to trade offers for Jurrjens this winter, but teams have concerns about the health of his knee after his season was cut short by a right knee injury for the second consecutive year. Earlier this month Jurrjens avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $5.5 million contract that includes potential incentives based on the amount of innings pitched. He is under team control through the 2013 season.
