Norichika Aoki is taking a physical Monday.
It does not mean that he’s close to reaching a deal with the Brewers, but it does buy the Milwaukee front office some time if negotiations bump closely up against the January 17 deadline. Because, well, it’ll be out of the way. Aoki worked out in front of team officials for 75 minutes on Sunday, performing throwing, running and batting drills. The Brewers paid a $2.5 million posting fee for exclusive negotating rights to the 29-year-old outfielder.
