Yoenis Cespedes conducted a private workout for the Marlins Thursday in the Dominican Republic.
“We had our top baseball people there,” Marlins president David Samson said late Thursday night. “They were certainly impressed with his ability, He’s got to tools. He’s certainly an impressive player.” Cespedes, 26, defected from Cuba over the summer and is expected to draw bids from some of baseball’s biggest spenders this winter.
